This all natural Aleppo Soap was handmade in the US by Larkspur Lane Soapery. It was made in the traditional slow cooked hot process method in a small batch and handcut by the Soapmaker.
This interesting type of soap can be traced back to ancient times. "Unverified claims of its great antiquity abound, such as its supposed use by Queen Cleopatra of Egypt and Queen Zenobia of Syria. It is commonly thought that the process of soap-making emanated from the Levant region (of which Aleppo is a main city) and to have moved west from there to Europe after the first Crusades." --Wikipedia.
It is 70% Extra Virgin Olive Oil and 30 % Genuine Laurel Berry Oil, saponified. Although no scent was added, it does retain the scent of the Laurel Berry Oil, described by some as smokey and slightly medicinal. No colorant was added.
These bars are fully cured and ready to use.
